History and Partnerships

Lulame is the result of a collaboration between three leading South African companies – Hermitec, Gijima, and Guma.

Hermitec is a South African-based company borne from Miller Panelling Specialties (est. 1984, USA) and is a market leader in construction and delivery of biosafety labs, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and high-end healthcare fit outs. Gijima is a leading black-owned information and communications technology company in South Africa, and specialises in delivering digital solutions that enable business agility and growth. Guma is a diversified investment holding company with a successful track record of investing in and growing businesses across multiple industries.

With the advent of COVID-19, Hermitec, Gijima, and Guma came together to create Lulame, a company focused on delivering multi-faceted mobile screening, examining, testing, and patient care suites of containerised medical solutions. Lulame’s manufacturing hubs are located in Cape Town and Johannesburg, South Africa, which allows for the mobilisation of its systems at short notice. Together, these companies have combined their expertise and resources to bring innovative healthcare solutions to Africa and beyond.
